The most significant change in comparison to the current Li L9 Max model is the removal of the roof-mounted LiDAR. Following the naming pattern established with the Li L8 model, which offers Air, Pro, and Max versions, this new Li L9 variant could potentially be called the Li L9 Pro, featuring a lower price point compared to the Li L9 Max.
Apart from the removal of the roof-mounted LiDAR, the overall design of the new Li L9 variant remains consistent with the existing Li L9 Max. It features split-type headlights with the signature starry ring LED daytime running lights positioned above, and integrated high and low beam headlights below, blending seamlessly with the front bumper's continuous design.
The model number for this new variant is LXA6520SHEVX4, confirming its identity as a member of the Li L9 lineup. Similar to the L7 and L8 models, the LiDAR is replaced with the Journey 5 chip from Horizon Robotics for the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), and the number of cameras has been reduced from 11 to 10. Consequently, the ADAS system will be downgraded from the Li Auto AD Max to the Li Auto AD Pro.
Details regarding interior configuration changes have not been disclosed in the declaration. In terms of power, the new Li L9 variant will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine (with range extender) and dual motors at the front and rear, resulting in a combined torque of 620 N·m.
