BYD-backed DENZA puts DENZA N8 onto market

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 5, DENZA, the premium auto brand majority-owned by BYD, officially launched its second model in the N series, the DENZA N8. The new model comes with two trim levels: the 4WD Super Hybrid Flagship with six seats priced at 326,800 yuan and the seven-seater variant priced at 319,800 yuan.

To cater to diverse user needs for battery-only range, DENZA also introduced the D9 DM-i Luxury (“Zunxiang” in Chinese Pinyin) edition with a pure electric range of 98 km and equipped with the 45 kW fast charging and 6 kW V2L (vehicle-to-load) functions, priced at 349,800 yuan. This complements the existing versions with 190 km and 180 km of pure electric range, helping DENZA strengthen its leading position in the MPV market and achieve monthly sales exceeding 15,000 units.

The DENZA N8 showcases the brand's new design language - π-MOTION Potential Energy Aesthetics, with a streamlined body emphasizing off-road performance. Inside the cabin, the luxurious ambiance is further elevated, featuring a prominent circular design element inspired by the mathematical symbol π. Additionally, suede-like ceiling and Nappa leather seats also create an atmosphere of luxury and comfort.

The new SUV measures 4,949mm long, 1,950mm wide, and 1,725mm tall, with a 2,830mm wheelbase.

Under the hood, the DENZA N8 is equipped with the DM-p super hybrid system, combining the EHS electric hybrid system with a 1.5T turbocharged engine, achieving a combined electric motor power of 360 kW and a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 4.3 seconds. Moreover, the N8 houses a 45.8 kWh hybrid-exclusive blade battery, offering a range of 216 km (NEDC) on battery power alone, a combined range of 1,030 km, and a fuel consumption of only 6.45L/100km when lack of electric power.

The DENZA N8 also boasts advanced driving and control technologies, including the DiSus-C intelligent damping system and CCT (Comfort Control Technology), striking a perfect balance between handling and comfort. The model also supports OTA updates.

Inside the cabin, the DENZA N8 features the DENZA Link super-intelligent interactive cockpit, allowing seamless interaction between the instrument panel, W-HUD, and central display. The 15.6-inch central screen boasts a 2.5K ultra-high resolution. The car is equipped with smart voice recognition that enables instant four-zone dialogue covering over a thousand car control functions, with a quick wake-up response time of just 0.4 seconds.

Furthermore, the DENZA N8 comes equipped with DENZA Pilot, an L2+ advanced driver assistance system with 24 sensors, providing all-round anti-collision protection in narrow urban conditions.

The DENZA N8's thoughtful design includes a 6 kW V2L function, tow hook, and roof rack, providing a comfortable and luxurious experience for family camping trips, said the carmaker. In addition, the car offers a karaoke system paired with the Dynaudio system, offering a mobile karaoke room experience.
