FAW Jiefang, Huawei cement cooperation in AI, intelligent driving, intelligent cockpit

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 24, FAW Jiefang Automotive Co., Ltd. ("FAW Jiefang"), the truck manufacturing company under FAW Group, and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei") stepped up their strategic partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that involves the cooperation in such fields as AI, intelligent driving, and intelligent cockpit.

On the front of AI large model-related technology innovation, FAW Jiefang and Huawei have been conducting validation tests across various scenarios based on Huawei Cloud's Pangu Large Model. In the future, the two companies will intensify their collaboration to build the Jiefang Smart Brain based on the Pangu Large Model, create an intelligent work assistant for employees, and offer users a one-stop service suite, from car selection to replacement, powering various business scenarios, including R&D, production, supply, sales, and service.

Simultaneously, built on the Pangu Large Model, they will jointly develop an industrial large model for commercial vehicles and create AI solutions, innovating in business and profit-making approaches.

Besides, FAW Jiefang will engage in multifaceted, long-term cooperation with Huawei in the intelligent driving field. Leveraging FAW Jiefang's strong vehicle R&D capabilities and technical expertise, combined with Huawei's self-developed core components in the intelligent car area, advanced on-board autonomous driving algorithms, and leading car-to-cloud collaboration technologies, the duo will co-develop a holistic intelligent driving solution and build competitive intelligent driving products.

Regarding intelligent cockpit, FAW Jiefang said it has already completed the development of the intelligent cabin model 1.0 based on Huawei's technology, featuring self-developed features such as the fuel-saving coach and intelligent diagnosis. In the future, the two parties will deepen their collaboration in the intelligent cockpit field, leveraging FAW Jiefang's expertise in defining commercial vehicle user scenarios and Huawei's intelligent cabin solutions. Together, they will create an intelligent cockpit platform to further improve driving safety and comfort, and provide users with an entirely new driving and lifestyle experience.

FAW Jiefang and Huawei have a long history of successful cooperation that has delivered numerous important results. Since 2015, they have maintained close cooperation in public cloud, integrated communications, and IPD transformation, among other areas. In May 2019, they formally established a strategic partnership. In 2021, they expanded their collaboration into multiple fields, including AI, intelligent manufacturing, industrial internet of things, talent cultivation, and organizational process optimization.
