Tesla so far deploys over 1,800 Supercharger stations on Chinese Mainland

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 6, Tesla announced via its WeChat account that its Supercharger network has achieved full coverage in the Chinese Mainland's provincial capitals and municipalities.

According to Tesla's official statement, since the inauguration of the first Tesla Supercharger station on the Chinese Mainland in 2014, as of November 1, 2023, it has successfully deployed over 1,800 Supercharger stations, more than 11,000 Supercharger piles, 700 destination charging locations, and 2,000 destination charging pile.

Furthermore, Tesla also revealed the progress it has been made on the pilot program that launches its charging stations to non-Tesla brands' users.

The initial phase of this pilot program saw the opening of ten Tesla Supercharger stations in Beijing and Shanghai, catering to 37 non-Tesla vehicle models. Moreover, the program is set to expand to include 120 destination charging locations, spanning across 25 provinces and municipalities in China. Future phases of the plan will continue to broaden the reach of Tesla's charging network, offering services to a wider array of brands and vehicle models.

Besides, Tesla is advancing the project of building an energy storage Gigafactory in Shanghai’s Lin-gang Special Area.

In response, Tesla emphasized that these initiatives represents more than just an enhanced charging network. It encompasses a holistic energy solution for the entire industry, a new dimension of worry-free travel experiences, and an overarching commitment to the advancement of green energy—this is Tesla's GIGA, a paramount path towards sustainable energy.

It is worth noting that on April 25 of this year, Tesla officially began allowing select non-Tesla electric vehicle brands in the Chinese Mainland to use its charging stations.
