Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 14, Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor ("GWM") and the global multi-energy company TotalEnergies successfully hosted a Tech Day event at the Haval Technology Center in Baoding city, where GWM is headquartered, according to a post on GWM's press release.

The event centered around the themes of "Low Carbon," "Energy," and "Sustainability." The two parties delved into discussions on carbon neutrality and hybrid engine oil technology, and signed memoranda on "Carbon Neutrality Research Cooperation" and "Hybrid Engine Oil Technology Research Cooperation," aiming for more profound collaboration in carbon neutrality and new energy development.

To align with the tech day's theme, TotalEnergies offset the carbon footprint of the "2023 GWM & TotalEnergies Tech Day" by purchasing and deregistering the I-RECs (International Renewable Energy Certificates). This initiative achieved carbon neutrality for the event, with a verified carbon emissions of 9.848t CO2e, offsetting electricity consumption of 11.640MkWh and reducing carbon emissions of 9.848t CO2e.

GWM, with a target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045, has constructed the forest ecosystem guided by energy and intelligence. The company has established a parallel development framework for hybrid, pure electric, and hydrogen fuel technologies, deploying a comprehensive industry chain layout in areas such as intelligent driving, smart cabins, and intelligent chassis. This includes the creation of an industry-leading energy system combining "photovoltaics, distributed energy storage, and centralized energy storage" and a full value chain layout covering "solar energy - batteries - hydrogen energy - vehicle power."

TotalEnergies, centered on sustainable development and aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050, engages in projects and operations supporting this core mission. The collaboration between the two companies holds significant importance for the deep integration into the forest ecosystem deployment and low-carbon sustainable strategies.
