Mengshi Technology partners with CATL for power battery R&D, applications

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 3, 2024, Mengshi Technology, the company behind Dongfeng Motor's rugged off-roader brand, M-Hero (“Mengshi” in Chinese pinyin), inked a three-year strategic cooperation agreement with the battery giant CATL in Ningde, Fujian Province.

Under this collaboration, CATL emerges as Mengshi Technology's preferred partner for automotive power batteries, committed to bolstering the automaker’s vehicle development and production endeavors. CATL will provide competitive automotive power battery products and services, aligning with Mengshi's needs. The partnership spans various dimensions, encompassing new battery product development, Shenxing ultra-fast charging battery applications, technological innovation projects, and expansive market outreach.

Specifically, both parties have prioritized consensus on developing novel battery products. Leveraging market demands and technological advancements, CATL's innovative battery technology will debut within M-Hero's vehicle lineup. Collaborative efforts extend to joint development and testing of new batteries and vehicle models, emphasizing key new energy automotive technology and innovation projects.

Of significant note, the M-Hero 917 new energy SUV model will feature the "CATL Inside" insignia in the future, marking the first million-yuan level electric luxury vehicle to bear this emblem.
