SAIC Volkswagen’s Tiguan L PRO hits market with enhanced intelligent features
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 30th, SAIC Volkswagen officially put the fire new Tiguan L PRO onto the market. The new SUV is available in six trim levels, with prices ranging from 236,800 to 266,800 yuan. A limited-time offer includes a 20,000-yuan purchase tax reduction and a worry-free trade-in policy at 80% of the original value within three years.

In terms of appearance, the Tiguan L PRO features Volkswagen's latest digital design language, with smoother lines throughout the vehicle. It offers two front-end design options: the sporty R-Line and the avant-garde style, and comes in five exterior color scheme: Bright Blue, Galaxy Grey, Glowing Pink, Arc White, and Quantum Black, three of which are new.
The R-Line sporty front grille features a large honeycomb design with a blacked-out treatment, complemented by high-gloss black trim on both sides, creating a strong sporty feel. The avant-garde front grille on the regular-spec version uses horizontal slats, enhancing the vehicle's horizontal stability. The regular-spec models also use chrome trim and black piano lacquer materials, adding a touch of sophistication and stability.
For lighting, the Tiguan L PRO adopts a popular through-type LED light strip design, with an illuminated Volkswagen logo at the front that provides a ceremonial welcome effect when unlocking the vehicle. Additionally, the new model is equipped with LED matrix smart projection headlights, consisting of a matrix headlight module and a projection module. Each side's projection module contains 25,600 LEDs, achieving a projection pixel count of 320*80=25,600. The headlights offer all-weather illumination, exclusive lane lighting, and narrow road width indication functions.

The side profile of the vehicle showcases smooth and solid lines, with muscular contours at the front and rear adding a sense of strength and fullness. The side skirts match the body color, and the wheel arches are finished in black lacquer, enhancing the overall quality.
At the rear, the new model adopts a broad-shouldered design, highlighting the visual center of gravity to make it look more substantial. The taillights feature a full-width design with a tinted finish, creating a striking visual even when not illuminated. The vehicle's dimensions are 4,735 mm in length, 1,842 (or 1,859) mm in width, and 1,682 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,791 mm.

Inside, the Tiguan L PRO also adopts a new design style, offering a more fashionable and technological interior ambiance. The interior has fewer physical buttons, giving it a simpler look. The cabin features a 15-inch central control screen and a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, along with an 11.6-inch entertainment screen for the front passenger, meeting the needs of young consumers for an intelligent cockpit.
The interior materials vary by different trims, with the R-Line sport package featuring extensive suede wrapping, while the avant-garde version uses leather.

In terms of intelligent features, the Tiguan L PRO's central control screen boasts a 2K resolution and is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, significantly enhancing display quality and operating speed. The model uses the new MOS 3.0 GP intelligent vehicle system, developed specifically for Chinese users, with optimized interface and logic, and added desktop widgets to simplify menu navigation. It includes several commonly used apps and supports in-car WeChat functionality.
Notably, iFLYTEK's intelligent voice assistant supports "what you see is what you say," dialect recognition, voice cloning, and wake-free continuous dialogue, offering a highly practical experience.
The 11.6-inch front passenger entertainment screen is another highlight of the new interior. It supports smartphone video mirroring and gesture control, expanding its usage scenarios. The screen can also assist the driver with information searches and navigation settings, and it offers privacy protection and Bluetooth headphone connectivity to prevent driver distraction.

For safety, the new model is equipped with the IQ Pilot intelligent assistance system, developed by DJI's automotive team to suit Chinese road conditions. It offers Level 2+ driving assistance capabilities within a speed range of 0-130 km/h. In addition to traditional exterior sensors, it features dual-camera systems for more accurate and comprehensive obstacle detection and lane recognition, simulating real driving habits and providing more reasonable responses.
Other configurations include an electronic gear selector, a 15W wireless charging pad, a black crystal control knob, perforated ultra-fiber cloud seats with ventilation/heating/massage functions, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, in-car fragrance system, and ambient lighting.

In terms of power, the new model is powered by a 2.0T four-cylinder engine, available in two power versions: 330TSI and 380TSI, with maximum outputs of 137 kW and 162 kW, and maximum torques of 320 N·m and 350 N·m, respectively. The transmission system features a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox, and the top-spec 380TSI model also comes with an adaptive all-wheel-drive system.
