Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 21, Li Auto announced the start of a trial operation for its supercharging station occupancy fee program. Effective immediately, users who charge their vehicles at Li Auto's supercharging stations will incur a fee for exceeding the designated charging time limit. The fee is set at 2 yuan per minute, with a cap of 200 yuan per single session. The charge applies if the charging cable is not returned to the charging pile within 15 minutes after charging is completed.

Li Auto emphasized that the overtime occupancy charges are not intended for profit but to enhance the user experience. The collected fees will be allocated toward the daily management and maintenance of the supercharging stations to create a more comfortable charging environment for users.

To avoid unexpected charges, Li Auto said it would send reminders via its official app, WeChat mini-program, short messaging service, or phone calls at four key intervals: when charging is nearly complete, upon completion, 10 minutes after completion, and 15 minutes after completion.

Li Auto announced that to ensure users adjust to the new rules, the system would undergo testing at select stations, with a primary focus on collecting user feedback to enhance functionality and refine the rules. After the trial period, this updated policy will be implemented at all Li Auto supercharging stations nationwide. The company also clarified that no charges would be incurred if charging is disrupted due to equipment malfunctions, vehicle issues, or other exceptional circumstances.

Li Auto also introduced measures to address the issue of occupied parking spots, including installing ground locks where permitted. In cases where a vehicle occupies a spot without charging or does not vacate the space in a timely manner, subsequent access to the charging station and lock release will be restricted. In the future, the company plans to use order data, smart camera recognition, and lock release information to enforce occupancy fee charges and restrict access, improving space utilization and enhancing the user experience.

The company added that a standard pricing schedule would be applied during the trial period. Adjustments will be made in response to operational performance and user feedback to optimize the system.
