Gasgoo.com (Shanghai) - A total of 1.73 million passenger automobiles were sold in the month of May, according to statistics from Gasgoo.com (Chinese). That figure represents year-on-year growth of 13.6%. 652,022 of these vehicle sales were from own brand manufacturers, representing positive year-on-year growth of 20.3%. By comparison, joint venture automobile sales only grew 9.9%. Joint venture sales for the month totaled 1.07 million units. Sales growth of JV vehicles were far below both own brand passenger automobile sales and the market average. JV sales accounted for 62.3% of all passenger automobiles sold in May, down from 64.4% sold the previous year, while own brand automobile sales grew from 35.6% in May 2015 to 37.7% this May.

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai) - According to China Passenger Car Association statistics compiled by Gasgoo.com (Chinese), a total of 921,732 sedans were sold in China over the month of May. The figure, which represents slight year-on-year growth of 0.6%, marks the first month in several that Chinese sedan sales haven’t fallen.

According to Geely’s latest data, Boyue and Emgrand GS sell 8,142 and 4,600 units in June respectively, driving Geely’s sales volume to increase 41%. Geely has a total sales volume of 280,000 units in the first half of year, accomplishing 47% of the annual target. Geely sells 46,574 units vehicles in June, increasing 40.8% with the same period of last year and 2% with May. The single monthly growth has reached a new historical high.
