Changan Automobile SL03 hits market, starting from RMB168,900

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Changan Automobile’s first production model under the newly formed Shenlan brand, the SL03, officially went on sale on July 25th.

Coming with four trim levels and three power selections, the battery-electric SL03 is priced at RMB183,900-RMB215,900 ($27,250-$320,000). The range-extended SL03 starts at RMB168,900 ($25,000), while the fuel-cell model is available for RMB699,900 ($103,710).

The SL03 is built on Changan Automobile’s freshly launched EPA1 digital platform. Installed with six ultrasonic radars, three millimeter-wave radars, and six high-performance cameras, the SL03 is capable of a dozen intelligent driving functions, including IACC, lane-changing assistant, panoramic camera view, and AEB.  

Notably, the vehicle will also be equipped with APA7.0 remote valet parking system and NID3.0 intelligent pilot service. The functions are available to the public via subscription, which will upgrade the vehicle to have 34 sensor hardware. Subscription of the two functions will start delivery from December 31st this year.

The smart cockpit of the model offers Bluetooth/NFC entry, 3D holographic facial recognition, and ten mode settings including privacy mode and rest mode. The SL03 is installed with a 14.6” display that automatically tilts 15° along with the driver, and is therefore referred to by the automaker as the “sunflower screen”.
