All-new FAW-VW Magotan hits market with enhanced intelligent features

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 9, FAW-Volkswagen officially released the new-generation Magotan to the market at its Changchun plant. Entering the Chinese market for 17 years, the Magotan has undergone a comprehensive upgrade.

The new model is available in three variants, powered by 1.5T EVO2 and 2.0T high-power engines, with prices ranging from 179,900 yuan to 246,900 yuan.

Since its introduction to China in 2007, the Magotan has set the standard for B-segment sedans with its distinctive design and advanced technology. The new-generation Magotan continues this legacy with significant improvements in design, comfort, and especially in intelligence. The collaboration with DJI, Qualcomm, iFlytek, and Huawei has resulted in a holistic upgrade, positioning the new Magotan at the forefront of the oil-fueled vehicle market in terms of intelligent features.

The smart cockpit is a standout feature on the refreshed model, with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 7.11-inch HUD for AR real-world display, and a 15-inch 2K high-resolution central control screen. The co-pilot’s fully fitted screen offers rich infotainment options and excellent visual experiences.

Powered by Qualcomm’s 8155 chip, the new Magotan's computing power is 2.5 times higher than its predecessor, ensuring smoother vehicle system operation. The customized Avatar voice assistant, developed in collaboration with iFlytek, enables users to easily manage navigation, entertainment, vehicle status, and air conditioning through simple voice commands.

The new Magotan also features the L2+ IQ. Pilot intelligent driving assistance system, capable of 0-130 km/h full-speed autonomous driving. Developed by DJI Automotive, IQ. Pilot is the first complete advanced intelligent driving product in China to receive functional safety product certification. It has been optimized for China's complex road conditions, providing drivers with a reliable and comfortable intelligent driving experience.

Driving safety is further enhanced with the Huawei 5G-V2X communication hardware, Emergency Assist 3.0, KA intersection assist, ABA turn assist, rollover protection, anti-collision rear end protection, and dual pre-tensioning and dual load-limiting active seat belt functions.
