Leapmotor expands into South America with launches in Brazil, Chile

Leapmotor marked a major step in its international expansion on November 25 as it entered both Brazil and Chile, debuting at the São Paulo International Motor Show and officially opening its strategy for the South American market.

Leapmotor is initially offering both the BEV (battery electric vehicle) and REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) variants of the C10, alongside the B10 sedan, in Brazil and Chile. The company plans to establish 36 retail and service locations across 27 Brazilian cities and open five outlets in Chile by 2025. Additional rollouts are planned for Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador as the brand accelerates its regional footprint.

Volkswagen completes expansion project of VCTC Hefei R&D center

On November 25, Volkswagen Group China Technology Company ("VCTC") inaugurated a new testing hall at its Hefei R&D center, marking the completion of a major expansion project. The site becomes Volkswagen's first comprehensive development hub outside Germany with full end-to-end testing and validation capabilities.

The Hefei R&D facility spans roughly 100,000 square meters and houses more than 100 advanced laboratories. Its remit stretches across software and hardware development, battery and powertrain testing, and full-vehicle platform validation. With its launch, Volkswagen now has—for the first time outside Germany—a complete R&D ecosystem capable of taking new technologies from concept through to localized production.

RoboSense Secures Another Design Win from DiDi Autonomous Driving

On November 24, RoboSense and DiDi Autonomous Driving announced a new production-design partnership for DiDi's next-generation Robotaxis. Leveraging its ultra-high-channel digital main lidar EM4 and fully solid-state blind-spot digital lidar E1, RoboSense will provide a full-coverage lidar perception solution for DiDi's Robotaxi fleet.

Specifically, with the“main lidar + blind-spot lidar” setup, each of DiDi's new-generation Robotaxi vehicles will be equipped with 10 digital lidars from RoboSense, creating an industry-leading autonomous driving model capable of all-time, all-weather, continuous operation.
