GAC to launch two own-brand models by year end

GAC will put its first premium sedan Trumpche (Chuangqi in Chinese) on sales after the car rolls off the production line on September 28. The mid-sized Trumpche, showcased at the Beijing Auto show in April, is well positioned to lead the mid- and high-end own brand models in China's auto market.
GAC Trumpche, based on the platform of the Alfa Romeo 166, will be equipped with the 1.8L and 2.0L naturally aspirated engines of which the 1.8L/ 140hp has a max torque of 161Nm, matching a five-speed transmission.

The other model GAC is about to launch is the Linian concept car, a little roadster made by the Chinese carmaker and its Japanese partner Honda, which will feature a 1.0L and a 1.3L engine to rival GM's new Chevrolet Sail.
Reportedly, Guangzhou-Honda's Linian concept car, currently under test run, will probably be exhibited at the coming Guangzhou Auto Show at the end of the year and is expected to be put on the market early next year.
