Beijing Hyundai Chongqing Factory will be completed tomorrow, firstly launching two small-size models

Shanghai, July 18, Gasgoo - The fifth factory (Chongqing Factory) of Beijing Hyundai began construction in June of 2015. According to plan, the new factory will be put into production in August this year, with the initial models including new Verna and a new small-size SUV. It’s known that the fifth factory will be completed tomorrow with an annual capacity of 300,000 units. The total annual capacity of the five factories will reach 1.65m units when capacities are released.

Beijing Hyundai fifth factory will firstly launch New Verna and a new small-size SUV, and the new platform REINA will also be constructed. The factory began construction in June, 2015 with a total investment of RMB 7.75b and annual capacity of 300,000 units.

Making debut on Chongqing Auto Show, new Verna adopts the big-size hexagon air-inlet plate decorated with multi-chrome banners, showing great magnificence. The new vehicle is expected to equip with 1.4L naturally-aspirated engines with maximum power of 74 KW and peak torque of 132 NM, matching with 5-speed MT or 4-speed AT gearboxes.

It’s expected that the fifth factory will produce the domestic version of Kona, a newly launched small-size SUV model. Kona uses the new designing style with exaggerated front faces. LED daylights combine with cornering lights, and the head lights are positioned under daylights, showing a more fashionable style. The new model is expected to have a selling price of RMB 120,000.
