Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese multi-mode transportation platform Didi Chuxing (Didi) announced on July 15 it formally opened up its ride-hailing platform to third-party mobility service providers in a bid to converge more mobility resources to meet intensified travelling demands at rush hours.

The announcement came as Didi forged partnership with two state-owned auto groups, FAW Group and Dongfeng Motor Corporation.
Besides, Didi also stepped up the collaboration with GAC Group last month after they forged a strategic partnership in April 2018. This time, both parties are going to conduct collaboration in such areas as vehicle promotion, customized services, operation as well as ride-hailing service and autonomous driving.

The ride-hailing services from FAW Group and Dongfeng Motor, as well as GAC's newborn mobility service platform "ON TIME" will be given access to Didi's main app so as to serve Didi's 550 million registered users across China, said the C2C ride-hailing giant.
The cooperation between Didi and the third parties will proceed in this way–third parties will make use of Didi's powerful platform to receive orders at the cost of paying certain numbers of commission to the latter. Meanwhile, drivers and vehicles should be offered by the third parties themselves, according to a person with director knowledge.
Through this open platform, Didi will leverage its AI strengths, operational expertise and market strategies to help automobile partners build capacities for connected vehicle operations. The mobility-plus-automobile alliance will strengthen DiDi's mobility ecosystem and help shape a broader industry transformation driven by global trends of electrification, shared mobility and application of AI technology, said Didi.
