State-owned FAW Group, Dongfeng, Changan Automobile launch T3 mobility service platform

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- FAW Group, Dongfeng Motor and Changan Automobile on July 22 launched the T3 Mobility platform, which is designed to offer consumers safe, convenient and comfortable mobility services and solve industrial pain points by means of legitimate operation and an all-new IoV technical architecture.

The newly-unveiled platform, which also involves investments from e-commerce platforms and Internet giants like Suning, Alibaba and Tencent, is said to enter six major Chinese cities including Nanjing, Chongqing, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Tianjin this year and will be available for most provincial capitals in China next year.

At the launching ceremony, Cui Dayong, CEO of T3 Mobility, said the mobility travelling is a matter of people’s livelihood, while basic paint points have not been solved because of the improper operational modes. T3 Mobility will reform business models and use innovative technologies to provide users with better mobility service experience taking safety and livelihood as the foothold.

The new mobility service platform is going to utilize bespoke and intelligent new energy vehicles. All drivers for T3 Mobility must undergo a strict qualification check.

Moreover, the new platform is to bolster the supply-side reform and ensure a stable supply of superior and legitimate transport capacity by virtue of joint efforts of local taxi companies, passenger transport operators and car dealers.

At the same time, the mobility service operator announced the V.D.R. (Vehicle-Driver-Road) system designed to protect drivers and passengers. Forming connectivity between in-car network and Internet, the V.D.R enables real-time management over each vehicle on the platform powered by such applications as facial recognition, physical alarm button and other interventions when an accident happens.

The newborn mobility service provider has set a clear planning for its business scale and scope. It aims to deploy 20,000 vehicles by the end of 2019 and strive to increase the number to 300,000 and 1 million over the next three years and six years respectively.
