Since entering Egypt in 2023, GAC Group has worked with Jameel Motors to introduce the EMZOOM, EMPOW, EMKOO and GS4 MAX through complete-vehicle imports. The partners have also established a sales and service network covering key Egyptian cities.
The localization project will begin with production of an entry-level SUV aimed at younger buyers. GAC and Jameel Motors will jointly invest resources in technical upgrades and production-line adaptation. The companies said they will apply GAC's manufacturing standards to local production while introducing additional technology and production expertise to Egypt's automotive industry.
Local production is expected to shorten vehicle delivery times and improve the customer experience. The project is also intended to support the development of Egypt's automotive supply chain, create local jobs and extend the domestic industry into more technically advanced areas of vehicle manufacturing.
GAC Group said it will use the project as a starting point for deeper localization in Egypt, including a broader product lineup and upgraded service capabilities. The automaker also plans to leverage the country's location to develop a regional manufacturing and distribution hub serving Africa and neighboring markets, while strengthening its presence across the Middle East and Africa.
