Chery is launching its new Karry sub-brand for China's the low-end market with a new product: the Karry Youpai, or Viewsonic, according to Edmunds.com.

The microvan has just gone into production in Wuhu and will be formally introduced to the public this month at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show.

Power comes from a 1.0-liter engine. The microvan features a tall roof and very little front and rear overhang and wil be priced at $5,100 and up.

Chery has also unveiled two new high-end sub-brands including Riich and Rely earlier in mid-March, which is expected to help the automaker expand into overseas markets.
