Shanghai (Gasgoo)-Dongfeng Yueda KIA recently released its November sales. During November, Dongfeng Yueda KIA delivered 50,003 units with a month-on-month increase of 17.6%. By the end of November, sales of Dongfeng Yueda KIA has kept increasing for six consecutive months since it realized growth in June. Thanks to China's peak sales season in September and October, Dongfeng Yuada KIA also enjoyed sales surge during the period.
With the excellent performance and attractive appearance, KIA's star model, the K3 becomes the sales driver of KIA. The K3's November sales increased 20.2% month on month to 18,211 units, which account for approximately 40% of KIA's total sales in November.
The newly launched small-size crossover, the KX CROSS is popular among youngsters. In November, it sold 7,948 units and delivered 19,734 units in total within three months. In addition, the Kia K4, the Kia Sportage and the Kia KX5 also performed well in the segment.
On Sept. 26, Dongfeng Yueda KIA launched the family sedan, the Kia Pegas with a starting price of RMB 49,900. On Nov. 7, it released the all-new Kia Forte, which features upgrades both inside and outside. On Nov. 17, at Auto Guangzhou 2017, Dongfeng Yueda KIA unveiled an all-new SUV model, the NP, which is an intelligent-interconnected SUV tailored for Chinese customers, and will hit the market next year.
Moreover, according to KIA's 2020 strategy, KIA will release 6 new energy vehicles and aim to achieve a sales record of 100,000 NEVs before 2020. Currently, the K5 hybrid has been launched. Other five NEV models, the K5 plug-in hybrid, Stonic, Soul EV, Horki 300E and the K3 plug-in hybrid will be launched before 2020, helping to reach KIA's 2020 strategic targets.
From the above, Dongfeng Yueda KIA's sales recovery not only benefits from Dongfeng Yueda KIA's long-time efforts in Chinese market, but also from the launching of the K4, the KX CROSS and the Kia Pegas. Though it suffered sales slump during the first five months, Dongfeng Yueda KIA sees sales recovery since June and is promising to achieve its annual sales target of 700,000 units in 2017.
