Geely January sales jump 51 percent year on year
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely sold 155,089 vehicles in the first month of the new year, surging 51 percent from a year earlier and setting another new record for its monthly sales, the automaker said in a statement. Out of all models, eight have achieved a sales volume of over 10,000 units.
In 2017, Geely Auto handed over 1,247,116 vehicles in 2017. The Hangzhou-based automaker eyes 1.58 million vehicle sales in 2018, jumping 27 percent compared with 2017 while the January sales took up nearly 10 percent of its annual target.
In sedan segment, Geely sold 26,122 units of the New Emgrand in January, down 0.73 percent year on year. The sales of the Borui were 3,293 units, falling 18.53 percent from a year earlier. Last month, Geely handed over 20,055 units of the Vision, jumping 36.28 percent compared with a year earlier. The sales of Emgrand GL surged 48.54 percent year on year to 15,163 units.
Currently, there are five Geely SUVs on sale. The Emgrand GS sales nearly doubled to 20,087 units while the sales of Boyue increased 50.8 percent to 30,381 units. The Vision SUV sales dropped slightly to 10,004 units year on year while the Vision X3 sales dropped to 10,457 units. Last month, Geely sold 10,303 units of Vision S1.
Lynk&CO sales climbed 2.68 percent month on month from 6,012 units of December, 2017 to 6,173 units of the first month in 2018.
