All-new BYD Song hits market with prices ranging from RMB 79,800 to RMB 219,900

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The all-new BYD Song hit the market on Aug. 30. The new model offers three variants, namely the Song 1.5T gasoline version, the Song DM and the Song EV. The 1.5T gasoline version is priced between RMB 79,800 and RMB 119,800. Prices of the new Song DM ranged between RMB 176,900 and RMB 206,900, after subsidies. The new Song EV 500 has a price ranging from RMB 189,900 to RMB 219,900, after eliminating subsidies.

The all-new BYD Song features large modifications in its appearance. Dragon face, BYD's latest iconic front end design style, embodied the most significant change in the new Song's exterior, which looks very individualized and fashionable with the model's large polygonal intake grille decorated by chrome trims and connected with LED headlights from both sides.

It features the same side body as that of the existing model. With dark-grey five-spoke wheel rims, the model's sportiness is further enhanced. The model's rear end also experienced great changes, including pulling-through tail lights and chrome trims. What's more, the model measures 4,600mm in length, 1,870mm in width and 1,700mm in height, and sets on a wheelbase of 2,660mm. Besides, the new model offers six options for one-color coating and two options for two-color coating.

The new model offers a wrap-around intelligent interior with two different color options, featuring a cutting-edge cabin includes a 12.8-inch center console LCD screen.

The new Song gasoline version will be powered by a 1.5T engine with a maximum power output of 154hp and a peak torque of 240Nm, mated with a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. 

Powered by a plug-in hybrid system combined with a 1.5T engine and double electric motors and battery packs, the new Song DM delivers a combined maximum power output of 453hp and a combined peak torque of 740Nm, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Under a pure electric mode, the model's range is 80km. Moreover, the model can sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds.

The new Song EV500 is outfitted with a permanent magnet AC synchronous electric motor with a maximum power output of 218hp and a peak torque of 310Nm.It boasts a range of 500km under a constant speed. The Song EV500 also is available for 60kW charging pile and only needs 30 minutes to get 80% charged from 40% battery power.
