Presale of Geely Xingyue coupe SUV begins on April 15
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese automaker Geely officially started to accept orders of its all-new coupe SUV, the Geely Xingyue, on April 15. At the same time, the limited edition of the new model, dubbed Anyeqishi (meaning dark knight in Chinese), was launched with only 2,019 units available for presale.
The new model, based on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform that is jointly developed by Geely and Volvo, is named after a main-belt asteroid between Mars and Jupiter that was discovered at the Lijiang Observatory, Yunnan observatories of CAS by a Geely-owned astronomer team. Geely said it has filed an application to the International Astronomical Union for naming the newly-discovered star “Xingyue”.
The limited edition model, looking basically the same as the normal version, features Geely's signature “cosmos” grille decorated with a V-shaped silver chrome trim that connects headlights on both sides, delivering a sense of masculinity.
Such niceties as the 20-inch aluminium alloy sooty wheel hub, the in-car FACE ID fatigue driving monitoring system, ADB matrix LED headlights as well as NAPPA leather & chamois wrapped seats are particularly installed in the newly-launched edition.
The limited edition car is able to sprint from 0-100km/h within 6.8 seconds powered by a 2.0TD 175kW/350N·m engine, which is also used in the Volvo XC90. Paired to the engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission supplied by Aisin.
