New Geely Emgrand GS goes on sale with 8 variants priced from RMB77,800

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely's all-new Emgrand GS formally hit the market on June 18. Offering 8 variants, the new compact SUV is priced from RMB77,800 to RMB116,800.

Compared with the existing model, the new Geely Emgrand GS features a brand-new black logo and a more stylish grille. The vehicle is offered in two kinds of design styles—the "sports" and the "elegance"

As to the “sports” version, there are L-shaped trims flanking the grille and located at the rear end. It packs a dynamic exhaust layout with a single pipe on each side. The “elegance” model is a bit smaller than the “sports” one. It features triangle trims on both sides of the front face, while adopts a trim that stretches across the vehicle's rear liftgate.

The new Emgrand GS provides the two-tone aluminium alloy rims in two sizes—17-inch and 18-inch. The automaker adds the all-in-one LED headlights (integrating the high beams and dipped headlights) and a panoramic starry-sky sunroof to the standard equipment list of the “sports”. Meanwhile, the “elegance” version will come standard with a power sunroof.

Moving to the inside, occupants will enjoy some Level 2 intelligent driving assistance features, including the ICC (intelligent cruise control), the AEB (autonomous emergency braking), the AEB-P (pedestrian autonomous emergency braking), the IHBC (intelligent high beam control), the LDW (lane departure warning), the LKA (lane-keeping assist) and the SLIF (speed limit information function).

Besides, the GKUI (Geely Smart Ecosystem) in-car intelligent system will be installed into the new model across the entire lineup, allowing users to remotely activate/shut down the engine and control vehicular air conditioner and car windows via mobile applications.

The new vehicle will be offered in three types of engine. The 1.8-litre naturally aspirated engine is able to pump out 133hp and 170 N·m of torque peak, paired with 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed dual clutch transmission. The 1.4-litre and 1.5-litre turbocharged engines will churn out 141hp/235 N·m and 177hp/255 N·m respectively. The 1.4T version is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT, while the 1.5T engine is available to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. Both of turbocharged engines satisfy the China Stage 6 Emission Standard.
