Evergrande attains intellectual property of chassis architecture 3.0 from BENTELER, FEV

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Evergrande New Energy Automotive Group, the NEV arm of Evergrande Group, fully got the intellectual property of the chassis architecture 3.0 from German's auto parts suppliers BENTELER and FEV Group, marking another milestone in the property titan’s pursuit of being the world's leading NEV manufacturer.

The latest introduction of chassis intellectual property will help Evergrande Group greatly shorten its R&D cycle by over three years, versus 5 years that are generally demanded for developing a car, according to a press release from the real estate group.

The chassis architecture 3.0 transferred to Evergrande is said to be the world's most cutting-edge chassis structure for all-electric vehicles. Based on a BEV platform, the 3.0 architecture highly integrates the powertrain, suspension system, control system and brake system through modular design, said Evergrande.

Prior to the 3.0, the NEV chassis architecture had experienced two technical development phases. The 1.0 derived from the fossil fuel-powered vehicle platform and then evolved into the pure electric platform, namely, the 2.0.

The group has formed a relatively complete industrial chain covering distribution channel, complete vehicle producer, charging infrastructure and several core auto parts by a series of acquisitions. It reached deals of cooperation or acquisition & merger this year with such overseas companies as hofer AG, Koenigsegg Automotive AB and Protean, obtaining core technologies and facilities of in-wheel electric motor, powertrain and manufacturing.

Evergrande group unveiled its NEV brand name on August 28 at the AFC Champions League quarter-final.

The eye-catching Chinese characters “恒驰”— “Heng Chi” in Chinese pinyin—appearing on the red polo shirts of Guangzhou Evergrande's football players show the world Evergrande's ambition in NEV field. According to the property behemoth, “Heng Chi” stands for “Everlasting” and “to bloom worldwide”, embodying Evergrande's long-term determination to be the world's leading EV manufacturer.
