Shanghai (Gasgoo)- DiDi, the world's leading mobile transportation platform, launched on September 24 the first-of-its-kind safety standard to the entire ride-hailing industry at a public service platform under China's Standardization Administration.
The newly-launched standard contains 96 clauses that cover a wide range of areas, such as responsibility system for safety, driver & fleet management, the response and handling over safety issues as well as management of safety performance.

The ride-hailing giant is to normalize and standardize its safety management system in four aspects. In short, the safety standard, system, process and regulation should be highlighted synchronously to make sure safety measures implemented “exactly as it was originally agreed upon with any distortion,” DiDi said in a press release.
DiDi's safety standard is launched to ensure safety of passengers and drivers, promote the issuance and improvement of the standards about car-hailing service safety for the whole industry, local authorities and the state government, said the company.
The ride-hailing firm has been pouring a great deal of money and energy on safety business of ride-hailing service. To demonstrate its efforts, DiDi released a set of number—over RMB2 billion is expected to be pumped throughout 2019 to improve ride-hailing safety service; the staff number of its safety working team has been increased to 2548 as of July. Besides, the company also keeps working on screening and cleaning up safety accident hazards.
“Setting standards for the ride-hailing industry is a tough job, but once we make it, it will definitely be a good thing to both our country and our people,” said Hou Jinglei, Chief Saftey Officer of DiDi Chuxing.
