Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The production planning of SAIC Volkswagen's Anting-based e-factory, which is dedicated to producing all electric vehicles based on Volkswagen's Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB), has been recently disclosed via a local media channel.

With a predicted annual capacity of 360,000 vehicles for the first phase, the new factory is said to manufacture the Audi Q4 Sport e-tron, the Volkswagen ID.4 X, the mass-produced version of the ID.ROOMZZ and the SKODA ENYAQ.

According to an official document exposed by the local media outlet, four models to be produced at the Anting factory are code-named Audi A+SUVe, A SUVe, Lounge SUVe and SK A SUVe Derivat.

The Audi A+SUVe might be the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, one of two MEB-based full-electric SUVs Audi has so far launched—the other is the Audi Q4 e-tron to be made at FAW-VW’s Foshan plant. It will vie with the Mercedes-Benz EQA, EQB and the Tesla Model Y after hitting the market.

The ID.4X (namely, the A SUVe) will be launched on November 3, according to the local report. Positioned as a compact all-electric SUV, the ID.4X targets the price range of 200,000 yuan ($29,740) to 300,000 yuan ($44,610).

The yet-to-be-launched SUV is likely to be driven by a permanent magnet synchronous generator with a rated power of 70kW and a maximum power of 150kW, according to the information unveiled by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Powered by an 83kWh ternary-lithium battery pack, the vehicle features a NEDC-rated range of 555kW.

The Lounge SUVe is likely to be the production version of the ID.ROOMZZ Concept, which made its global debut at Auto China 2019 in Shanghai and is ready to go into volume production in the first half of 2021.

The ENYAQ iV, SKODA's first fully electric SUV and first model to be built on the MEB platform, was formally launched in early September. It can be reckoned as a sibling model of the ID.4X with a bigger size, corresponding to the model code-named SK A SUVe Derivat.
