Qianxun SI to endow Xpeng P7 with positioning capability with centimeter level accuracy

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Qianxun SI, a leading Chinese high-precision positioning service provider, announced on Nov. 11 its FindAUTO spatio-temporal engine will be used to power the Xpeng P7, the second mass-produced model of the EV startup Xpeng Motors.

The Xpeng P7 boasts a position service accuracy at centimeter level by integrating Qianxun SI's FindAUTO high-precision positioning solution and AutoNavi's high-definition map into its XPILOT 3.0 advanced driver assistance system, which helps enhance driving safety in severe weather and extreme environments.

According to Qianxun SI, the Xpeng P7 sports sedan will embrace the FindAUTO solution through OTA (over-the-air) update. The flexible update approach will increase the possibility for the P7 to swiftly realize the autonomous navigation on expressways. Meanwhile, it also poses higher technology demands for the providers of basic capabilities. 

Qianxun SI noted it has set up 2,800 BeiDou ground-based augmentation stations which enable a nationwide coverage of its high-precision position service (except for the depopulated region in West of China).

By virtue of satellites and the ground-based augmentation stations, Qianxun SI is able to provide automobiles with safer and more reliable positioning service. Notably, the solution launched by Qianxun SI can still offer absolutely accurate result of positioning and decisive reference data for automobile direction sensing in spite of severe weather, non-line-of-sight scenarios and other scenarios where car-mounted sensors are affected, said Xpeng Motors.

Qianxun SI said there have been several models equipped with its high-precision positioning solution, such as the Aion V and the Aion LX, going on sale this year.
