NDRC reported to resume examination of NEV manufacturing qualification in first half of 2018

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, a local media says that the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) will restart the examination and approval of new electric passenger vehicle manufacturing projects, which have been suspended for nearly half a year.

The report says that NDRC has granted approval to three new electric passenger vehicle manufacturing projects, Henan Senyuan Group’s project with an annual production capacity of 50,000 units, Jiangsu Guoxin New Energy Vehicle Company’s carbon fiber lightweight project and Kandi (Jiangsu) Company’s new energy passenger vehicle manufacturing project with an annual capacity of 50,000 units.

According to another report, sources have it that NDRC has stopped the suspension in the end of November, and would resume the examination and approval of new electric passenger vehicle manufacturing projects from the first day of December.

However, another report contradicts the above reports within one day, saying NDRC officials and the three companies’ insiders denied the report. The report was attached a picture which shows the companies haven’t got the approval from the government department. A source close to NDRC disclosed that the department is expected to resume the examination and approval in March or April of 2018.
