BYD’s 300,000th EV rolls off the production line

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Jan. 9, BYD's 300,000th EV rolled off the production line, not only signifying a big milestone in NEV segment for BYD, but also reflecting the popularity of BYD's EVs.

In 2018, BYD targets to achieve annual NEV sales of 200,000 units, which is expected to surge 100% year on year.

By the end of November, 2017, BYD delivered 93,792 NEVs, up 1.52% year on year. Driven by the sales rebound of the BYD Qin PHEV, BYD posted monthly sales of 12,869 NEVs in November, 2017.

Launched on Sept. 25, 2017, the BYD Song MAX sold more than 25,000 units in December with its exterior designed by Wolfgang Egger, Audi's former chief designer and the designer of the Audi Q7. According to the released information, the Song MAX offers two engine variants, the 1.5T engine and the 2.0L engine. The maximum power output of the latter engine is 103kW and its fuel consumption is 8.4L/100km. In addition, the model will be equipped with plug-in hybrid and pure electric powertrains.

The new BYD Tang will offer two engine variants, namely the plug-in hybrid engine and the pure gasoline engine. It features a big-mouth intake grille. In terms of the interior, the plug-in hybrid variant adopts banner type, while the gasoline version offers a net-shape design. Bearing a badge of Build Your Dreams at the rear end, the two variants have different features on both sides of the front end. The new plug-in hybrid model will come fitted with 2.0T plug-in hybrid powertrains, delivering a maximum power output of 367kW and sprinting from 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds.
