FAW signs agreement with Hanergy to adopt solar power roofs

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- FAW and Hanergy Holding Group Ltd. (Hanergy) signed a strategic cooperation agreement, aiming to conduct overall strategic cooperation under the topic of green and energy saving. In the future, Hanergy's technology of thin-film solar power roof will be deployed in FAW's Hongqi models.  

With the help of Hanergy's thin-film solar technology, EV’s range can be expanded, thus customers' worry about EV's range could be greatly eased. 

Combining with Hanergy's resources in thin-film solar power technology and taking Hongqi's models ascarriers, FAW intends to develop high-end vehicle models under specific scenarios for customers.

FAW will adopt Hanergy's thin-film solar power technology to reserve power for its EV models. At the same time, FAW will also renovate its existing plants and buildings with the support of Hanergy's cutting-edge thin-film solar power technologies, aiming to shape an image of green corporate. The green idea will also be put into practice in the construction of new plants and industrial park in the future. 

In addition, both parties will explore and innovate solutions on intelligent transportation, intelligent charging and green mobility. They will also capitalize on their sales channels to explore and seek a new mode which features vehicle, family and photovoltaic.

You Zheng, assistant to general manager of FAW stated that the strategic cooperation with Hanergy is not only a crucial part of FAW's R&D strategic plan which was released on Jan. 8, but also indicates that Hongqi's all-new brand strategy was actually put into practice. Taking the Hongqi models as a start, thin-film solar power technology is likely to be deployed in all of FAW's new models in the future.
