Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BAIC BluePark New Energy Technology Co.,Ltd reported on October 18 that its subsidiary Beijing Electric Vehicle Co.,Ltd. (BAIC BJEV) delivered 11,560 vehicles in September, achieving a year-on-year jump of 35.22%. For the first nine months, the subsidiary saw its year-to-date sales surged 61.40% from a year ago to 81,678 units.
However, the EV automaker has only completed 54.45% of the 150,000-unit annual sales target after three quarters of the year has passed. It seems quite difficult for the company to fulfill the original goal within only 3 months remained.
On October 18, BAIC BJEV announced its 2025 mid-long term technology development planning and elaborate on the brand-new artificial intelligence auto system, the Darwin System.
Under the plan, 3 platforms will cover the automaker's product line by 2021. In battery system, BAIC BJEV will promote the development of battery platform in line with the complete vehicle platform and plans to finish the matching between complete vehicle platform and battery pack.
The company plans to increase the battery density to 350Wh/kg by 2025 and have the battery be charged to 80% within 10 minutes. In autonomous vehicle sector, BAIC BJEV aims to launch Level 2.5 autonomous vehicles by 2022 and L4 vehicles by 2025.
On September 27, BAIC Bluepark, the shell company for BAIC BJEV to go public, resumed trading on Shanghai stock exchange. Nevertheless, its stock prices have not performed well with the closing price dropping at RMB7.9/share on October 18 from the opening quote price of RMB14.66/share on September 27.
