BYD Yuan EV500 expected to boast range up to 500km
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The BYD Yuan EV is a small-sized all-electric SUV launched by BYD in May. By the end of October, the automaker has received orders exceeding 40,000 Yuan EV360s. Recently, the patent images of the Yuan EV500 were released from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of (MIIT). It is expected that the new version will boast a range up to nearly 500km.
Retaining the exterior design of the existing model, the Yuan EV 500 still adopts the latest design language of the “Dragon Face”. At the front face, a chrome trim, with a logo of Chinese character “元” in the middle, runs through the intake grille and extends to both sides. Headlights embedded with L-shaped daytime running lights look rather exquisite. As to the bumper design, the smarter aerodynamics is used to create sporty atmosphere.
The rear end of the Yuan EV500 features a concise design. The irregular-shaped taillights coupled with high-mount stop lamps are really impressive. The vehicle uses side-opening tailgate with the door handle perfectly integrated with taillights.
The Yuan EV500 will offer the panoramic sunroof (including luggage rack), the camera embedded in car logo, the rearview mirror, the side skirt with glossy trims and rims as optional amenities based on different variants.
With regard to the powertrain department, the Yuan EV500 will be powered by a permanent magnet synchronous generator that generates output up to 120kW, much higher than 70kW for the Yuan EV360.
