JAC Volkswagen’s first model SOL E20X hits the market, post-subsidy price starting RMB128,000

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The SOL E20X, the long-anticipated first model of JAC Volkswagen, officially hit the market on September 28. Offered in two trim levels, the new small-sized SUV model is priced between RMB128,000 and RMB138,000 after subsidy.

With an X-designed front face, the SOL E20X features a close-off grille that is usually adopted by all-electric vehicles. A trapezoidal plate seamlessly flanked by tear-drop-shaped headlights renders a multi-layered visual effect.

The side body looks pretty simple and clean. The dual-five-spoke rims are wrapped in Giti's Comfort 7 205/50 R17 tires.

The new car measures 4,135mm long, 1,750mm wide and 1,565mm long with a wheelbase that spans 2,490mm, very similar to that of the JAC iEV7S (4,135mm*1,750mm*1,565mm, wheelbase spanning 2,500mm).

The taillight cluster stretching across the entire tailgate is rather stylish. The design of the rear bumper is in tune with that of the front face.

In the cockpit, things are largely covered in black and white. However, in some places, for example, the car door and dashboard, an occupant can find brass-colored sanded decorations that further lift the vehicles' elegance.

The SOL E20X will be outfitted with such niceties as passive keyless entry system, start-stop system, 8-inch center console touchscreen, 7-inch high-definition LCD instrument panel, 360-degree parking assistant, blind spot detection, 4G wireless connectivity, voice control system as well as air purifier.

Powering the vehicle is a permanent magnet synchronous generator that can churn out 92kW and 270 N·m peak torque. It carries a cylindrical battery cell offered by Tianjin Lishen with an energy capacity of 49.5kWh, which enables a 402-km range for the vehicle. Besides, the new SUV can be charged to 80% of its battery capacity in 50 minutes.
