Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese EV innovator WM Motor plans to roll out a sedan and two SUV models in the second half of 2020 and the year of 2021, some of which are likely to be powered by Level 4 autonomous driving and 5G technologies, according to a local media report.

One of SUVs is set to be launched in this year's third quarter. It will be a six-seater SUV that adopts 2-2-2 seating arrangement and carry such interactive features as facial recognition and visual activation.

The other new SUV is expected for launch in the first half of 2021. The model, whose prototype might be the WM EVOLVE Concept, will use some innovative applications pertaining to autonomous driving and 5G.

The sedan model to be launched in 2021 will probably be the mass-produced version of the WM Maven concept that was been first seen in early May. As the startup's first all-electric sedan, the Maven impresses viewers with a slender LED strip light that extends to the sides of the bonnet, which accentuates the car's front width. Thanks to the flowing body silhouette and the fastback design, the Maven features a drag coefficient of only 0.23. According to the automaker, the vehicle will have a NEDC-rated range of up to 800km and be available to Level 3 autonomous driving functions and Level 4 automatic parking.

WM Motor currently has two production models for sale. The first one, the WM EX5, hit the market in April 2018. The company said the 30,000th EX5 was handed over to a consumer in early July, becoming the second BEV model in China that surpassed the 30,000-unit delivery threshold following the Tesla Model 3.
