The startup said via its WeChat account the NIO Day 2020 will be held at Wuliangye Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center, which is located at Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone. With a total construction area of about 99,000 square meters, the venue consists of two underground and five above-ground floors, and an audience capacity of up to 12,000 people.
As the biggest annual gathering for NIO's car owners, the NIO Day served as an eye-catching stage where the startup launched all-new products. The ES8 and the ES6, NIO's first two mass-produced models, hit the market at the 2017 and 2018 NIO Days respectively. At the NIO Day 2019, the company launched its third production model—the EC6, the all-new ES8, and its 100kWh battery pack.

NIO delivered 4,708 vehicles in September 2020, a new monthly record representing a strong 133.2% year-over-year growth. The deliveries consisted of 3,210 ES6s, 1,482 ES8s and 16 EC6s. As of September 30, 2020, cumulative deliveries of the ES8, ES6 and EC6 reached 58,288 vehicles, of which 26,375 were delivered in 2020, topping 2019's full-year deliveries.
