Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Leapmotor announced on April 2 its new vehicle deliveries in the first quarter of 2021 (Q1) amounted to 3,139 units, of which 997 units were delivered last month, a 58.8% surge compared to the previous month. As of March 2021, the startup had delivered a total of 11,838 vehicles.
The automaker also said it received orders of 3,227 new vehicles in March, representing a month-on-month increase of 33%. The order number for the T03, the C11 and S01 stood at 2,554 units, 638 units and 35 units. Besides, the order volume for the first three months totaled 10,019 units.

The startup shipped a new round of OTA (over-the-air) upgrade for the T03's users on March 5. This upgrade opened the Beta versions of LKA (lane-keeping assist), AEB (autonomous emergency braking) and ACC (adaptive cruise control) systems, and improves performances of infotainment system and dashboard so as to enhance the car's human-machine interaction and intelligent driver assistance functions.
Leapmotor inked an agreement with local authority of Hangzhou Qiantang New Area on March 29 for the cooperation on the EV startup's new energy vehicle projects and the goal of jointly building an industrial cluster for intelligent-connected vehicles.
Through the strategic collaboration, both parties will help Hangzhou drive its transition for automobile manufacturing, and strengthen its leadership of digital economy in China.
Aside from Leapmotor, Chinese EV startups NIO, XPeng and HOZON Auto have all released their Q1 sales results already. NIO said its Jan.-Mar. deliveries reached 20,060 units, for the first time topping 20,000 units on a quarterly basis. XPeng's quarterly deliveries hit a record high of 13,340 EVs in Q1 2021, zooming up 487% from a year earlier. In addition, HOZON Auto saw its Q1 sales rocket 390% year on year to 7,443 units.
