Great Wall Florid 1.5L to launch in China soon, starting at $9,600
Shanghai October 9 (Gasgoo.com) Great Wall Florid (Xuan Li in Chinese) will go on sale in the domestic market next month, probably starting at 63,900 yuan ($9,600). The new car features a 1.5L engine teamed with an automatic manual transmission (AMT), Che168 reported Saturday.
The 1.5L GW4G15 engine that powers the new Florid car is developed independently by Great Wall Motor, delivering maximum power of 77kw/6000rpm and peak torque of 138Nm/4200rpm.
Great Wall Motor launched the Florid 1.3L, also paired with an AMT, in mid-July 2010. Along with the previously launched Florid 1.5L relying on a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the Baoding-based automaker can certainly meet increasing demand in the world's largest auto market.
