Gasgoo Munich- On February 6, Li Auto announced the next-generation Li L9, positioning the model as a flagship SUV built around the concept of embodied intelligence. The company released official images alongside the announcement, while founder and CEO Li Xiang took to social media to outline key product highlights and the broader market strategy behind the new vehicle.

Reflecting on the model's evolution, Mr. Li said the original Li L9, launched four years ago, became widely known for redefining comfort and positioning itself as a top-tier SUV in its price range. Since then, the company has rethought what a generational upgrade should mean. Rather than chasing headline specifications, the new Li L9 is designed to deliver a step-change in user experience, with a focus on responsiveness, intelligence, and a more human-like interaction between vehicle and driver.
Building on this philosophy, Li Auto is also preparing a high-end variant priced at 559,800 yuan, branded as the Li L9 Livis. The company describes this version as its ultimate interpretation of a flagship SUV in the era of embodied intelligence, delivering what it sees as three major generational leaps in vehicle technology and architecture.
The first of these advances lies in chassis technology. The Li L9 Livis introduces an 800-volt fully active suspension system to a sub-600,000-yuan vehicle for the first time, according to the company. With extremely high per-wheel lifting force and no conventional anti-roll bar, the system is designed to react in milliseconds, allowing unprecedented control over body movement while balancing ride comfort and handling.
The second breakthrough centers on a fully chassis-by-wire architecture. The system integrates steer-by-wire, four-wheel steering, and an all-electronic mechanical braking setup, forming multiple layers of cross-system redundancy across steering, braking, and electric drive functions. Ideal Auto says this architecture is intended to improve precision and safety as vehicles move toward higher levels of intelligence.
The third pillar is computing capability. The new Li L9 is equipped with a centralized computing system rated at 2,560 TOPS, built on two 5-nanometer in-house-developed M100 chips. This hardware is paired with a 360-degree LiDAR setup, underscoring Li Auto's push to support more advanced perception and decision-making functions across the entire vehicle.
Li also revealed that the next-generation Li L9 will offer bespoke two-tone exterior options, produced using a multi-layer painting process combined with fine manual finishing. The model is scheduled to make its official market launch in the second quarter of 2026, marking the next major chapter in Li Auto's flagship SUV lineup.
