The agreement will combine Ulaanbaatar's urban development requirements with BYD Battery's capabilities across the new energy value chain. Proposed projects will focus on green transportation, new energy infrastructure and intelligent energy storage, with the two sides seeking to establish a model for China-Mongolia cooperation on sustainable cities.
The memorandum covers four principal areas. The parties plan to promote the wider adoption of electric vehicles to reduce transport-related emissions, develop an urban fast-charging network, deploy battery energy storage systems to improve energy use and power-supply stability, and introduce a SkyShuttle intelligent public transit project supported by BYD's battery technology.
The agreement establishes a framework for a long-term partnership. BYD Battery will contribute capabilities spanning new energy vehicles, energy storage and intelligent transportation, while Ulaanbaatar will provide local and policy support. The two sides intend to advance the proposed projects and continue working together on the city's green, low-carbon and smart urban development.
