Gasgoo Munich- BYD opened pre-sales for the Dahan EV, a new D+ segment flagship sedan under its Dynasty lineup, at the Chengdu Motor Show 2026 on August 21. Three variants are available, comprising two rear-wheel-drive versions with a claimed 1,008-km range and an all-wheel-drive model rated at 880 km. Pre-sale prices range from RMB 249,900 to RMB 299,900.

Positioned as the Dynasty range's flagship sedan, the Dahan EV measures 5,256 mm long and has a 3,130-mm wheelbase. Its front end features a seamless daytime-running light spanning 2.41 meters, which BYD describes as the longest one-piece light bar fitted to a series-production vehicle. Other exterior details include floating wheel-center caps and 21-inch disc-style wheels. Buyers can choose from five single-tone and four two-tone paint finishes.
BYD claims the Dahan EV offers a class-leading cabin-space utilization rate of 90.8%. Both front occupants receive zero-gravity seats, while Nappa leather upholstery, seat ventilation, heating and massage functions are provided throughout the cabin. The rear seatbacks offer 12 degrees of adjustment and are complemented by thigh supports and a footrest for the right-rear passenger.
Cabin materials include a suede-like headliner, soft-trimmed door panels and European-sourced white-oak veneer. The rear compartment also features what BYD calls the world's first black PDLC adjustable glass, which can switch from transparent to fully opaque in one second and provides automatic light adjustment and a one-touch privacy mode.
Acoustic glass is fitted to all four doors, with BYD citing more than 200 noise-reduction measures across the vehicle. A 31-speaker Devialet audio system includes eight headrest speakers and allows the driver, front passenger and rear occupants to listen to separate audio sources.
The Dahan EV offers a maximum claimed CLTC range of 1,008 km and combines BYD's flash-charging technology with an advanced intelligent chassis. The company says the sedan incorporates 44 technologies it regards as globally leading. Its arrival extends the Dynasty lineup into the higher-end flagship sedan market.
