The automaker first revealed the name of this new flagship during the Ocean Day user gala in Shenzhen on December 15, 2025, marking the Ocean Series' fourth anniversary. Based on previously released images, the Seal 08 appears positioned as a large sport sedan, carrying forward the core design language of the BYD Ocean-S concept. Up front, the car features a closed grille paired with slender headlights that echo the sculpted hood—elements that amplify its sporty character. Notably, a roof-mounted lidar sensor provides the hardware backbone for its driver-assistance capabilities.
Along the sides, a fastback silhouette and semi-hidden door handles streamline the profile, while large, multi-spoke wheels add a touch of luxury. At the rear, full-width taillights feature internal light strips shaped like ocean waves, tying back to the design cues seen up front.
Technologically, the Seal 08 is packed with advanced features, including rear-wheel steering, megawatt-level fast charging, the "God's Eye 5.0" autonomous driving system, and CTB (Cell-to-Body) integration. Official figures suggest the megawatt charging system can deliver 400 kilometers of range in just five minutes, with total pure-electric range expected to exceed 1,000 kilometers. Additionally, the rear-wheel steering system is set to significantly enhance handling agility and the overall driving experience.
