Gasgoo Munich- On May 21, BYD officially put the third-generation Yuan PLUS onto the market, with pricing ranging from 119,900 yuan to 149,900 yuan.
The updated all-electric SUV receives comprehensive upgrades in driving range, charging capability, intelligent driving assistance, and in-cabin technology, as BYD continues targeting younger buyers and family-oriented EV consumers in China's highly competitive compact SUV segment.

BYD positions the third-generation Yuan PLUS as a "smart flash charging SUV" focused on technology and lifestyle-oriented mobility.
The Yuan PLUS — sold overseas in some markets as the Atto 3 — was BYD's first global-oriented passenger vehicle program. Since its initial launch four years ago, cumulative worldwide sales have exceeded 1.1 million units, with the model entering more than 100 countries and regions.
The latest version introduces major updates centered on battery range, charging efficiency, intelligent technology, and passenger comfort.
All variants now adopt BYD's second-generation Blade Battery technology and are available with CLTC-rated driving ranges of 540 km or 630 km, covering urban commuting, weekend trips, and medium-distance travel scenarios.
The SUV also comes standard with BYD's FLASH charging technology. According to the automaker, the system can add substantial charge within five minutes and achieve a near-full recharge in around nine minutes under suitable charging conditions. BYD added that charging performance remains relatively stable even in low-temperature environments.
The company is also expanding supporting infrastructure and services, including so-called "zero-gravity" charging guns, automatic payment functionality, and access to more than 6,000 FLASH charging stations nationwide.

On the intelligent driving side, the third-generation Yuan PLUS can be equipped with BYD's DiPilot 300 LiDAR-assisted driving package and the latest God's Eye (Tianshen) 5.0 driver-assistance platform.
The system supports both urban and highway navigation assistance, helping reduce driver workload in congested traffic, complex road environments, and long-distance travel situations. The vehicle also includes one-touch automatic parking functionality.
The refreshed model offers a broader range of personalization options, including six single-tone body colors and three dual-tone combinations, along with two interior color themes.

The cabin emphasizes everyday practicality, featuring 39 storage compartments, a 180-liter powered front trunk, dual rear storage modules, an integrated heating-and-cooling vehicle refrigerator, and a built-in automotive-grade tissue box.
BYD also introduced a redesigned front passenger area called the "Inspiration Space," intended for decorative items, collectibles, plants, or small personal accessories to create a more lifestyle-oriented interior atmosphere.
For passenger comfort, the SUV features BYD's so-called "Queen Seat" for the front passenger, integrating ventilation, heating, powered leg support, and a one-touch relaxation mode.
The infotainment system also adds a Yuan PLUS-exclusive My Little Pony-themed interface, alongside karaoke functionality, wellness-oriented entertainment modes, and broader smart-device ecosystem connectivity designed to expand in-car leisure experiences.
Powering the third-generation Yuan PLUS is a 240 kW rear-mounted electric motor paired with a rear-wheel-drive layout.
The chassis combines a MacPherson front suspension with a five-link independent rear setup and integrates BYD's DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system, aiming to balance driving agility with ride comfort.
Safety technologies include the iTAC 2.0 intelligent torque control system, a high-speed tire blowout stability control system, a high-rigidity body structure, and seven airbags.
