On August 21, 2026, BYD opened presales for the Dahan EV, its new D+ segment flagship sedan under the Dynasty Series, at the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show.
The model is offered in three variants: the 1,008 km RWD Premium, 1,008 km RWD Flagship and 880 km AWD Flagship, with presale prices of RMB 249,900, RMB 269,900 and RMB 299,900, respectively.
Positioned as the top of BYD's Dynasty Series sedan lineup, the Dahan measures 5,256 × 1,999 × 1,510 mm and has a 3,130 mm wheelbase. A plug-in hybrid version is expected to follow.
As BYD expands into the D+ segment, the Dahan continues the BYD's highly vertically integrated supply chain model. Core technologies including the second-generation Blade Battery, electric-drive system, DiSus chassis system and God's Eye B intelligent driving system, are led by BYD, while specialist suppliers participate in areas including LiDAR, tires and premium audio.
Powertrain & Charging: Second-Generation Blade Battery and 1,000V Flash Charging
The Dahan EV is available with rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrains.
The RWD version uses a single 370 kW motor and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The AWD variant combines a 200 kW front motor with a 370 kW rear motor for a total output of 570 kW.
BYD says the AWD model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and from 100 to 150 km/h in 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 270 km/h. Its braking distance from 100 km/h is rated at 32.83 meters.
All Dahan EV variants BYD's second-generation Blade Battery, with a battery pack capacity of approximately 102.326 kWh. Depending on configuration, the model offers different CLTC-rated ranges, led by the 1,008-km RWD version.
The Dahan also achieves a drag coefficient as low as 0.197 Cd and a claimed energy consumption of 11.5 kWh/100 km.
For charging, the Dahan EV adopts BYD's vehicle-wide 1,000V high-voltage high-voltage architecture together with the company's proprietary flash-charging technology. According to BYD, the battery can be charged from 10% to 70% in five minutes and to 97% in approximately nine minutes under optimal conditions.
BYD is simultaneously expanding its high-power charging infrastructure,pairing its vehicle-side 1,000V architecture with a growing fast-charging network.
Unlike some flagship EVs source traction batteries externally, the Dahan relies primarily on BYD's own industrial ecosystem for its battery, electric motors, power electronics and high-voltage systems, underscoring the company's vertically integrated approach to electrification.
The plug-in hybrid version displayed alongside the EV uses BYD's DM system combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor. The engine produces up to 115 kW, while the motor is rated at 200 kW.
The PHEV uses a 54.489-kWh traction battery and has a WLTC-rated all-electric range of 370 km. The model has not yet opened for presales, and these specifications are based on filling with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Intelligent Driving:God's Eye B and Multi-Sensor Perception
The Dahan EV is equipped with BYD's God's Eye B advanced driver-assistance system and a LiDAR-based perception suite.
Its sensor configuration includes one roof-mounted LiDAR, five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and 11 cameras, forming a multi-sensor perception architecture.
BYD has also extended its safety-assurance initiative beyond automated parking.The company says it will provide a one-year safety assurance program for the Dahan's urban navigation function, describing it as the industry's first such commitment covering urban navigation.
At the system level, BYD is responsible for the development, vehicle integration and functional implementation of God's Eye B.
The Dahan's ADAS architecture therefore remains centered on BYD's in-house technology stack,while external suppliers participate in selected perception-hardware categories.
Smart Cockpit: DiLink Ecosystem and Devialet Premium Audio
The Dahan's cabin is positioned squarely toward the executive flagship-sedan segment, with a large central display, a full-LCD instrument cluster, AR-HUD and dedicated rear-seat comfort features.
Rear passengers have access to an entertainment display and a central control screen, while Higher-spec versions add features including an AR-HUD, rear entertainment system and refrigerator.
Premium audio is one of the clearest examples of external supplier participation in the Dahan cockpit.
The sedan uses an audio system from French premium audio brand Devialet, with up to 31 speakers. Headrest speakers enable differentiated sound zones for individual seating positions.
The seating system includes Nappa leather upholstery and dual zero-gravity front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions. The rear seatbacks offer 12 degrees of power adjustment, together with thigh support and a dedicated footrest for the right-rear passenger.
The rear cabin also features what BYD describes as the world's first black PDLC smart dimming privacy glass. The system incorporates automatic light sensing and can switch from transparent to opaque within one second, according to the automaker.
From a supply chain standpoint ,BYD retains control of the infotainment and cockpit electronics architecture,while Devialet supplies the premium audio system.

Chassis: DiSus-A Dual-Chamber Air Suspension and Rear-Wheel Steering
The chassis is another major differentiator for the Dahan EV.
All variants come standard with DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering.
The DiSus-A system supports ride-height adjustment and active body control across different driving conditions. The rear-wheel steering system provides a maximum steering angle of 7°degrees.
Despite measuring more than 5.2 meters in length, the Dahan has a claimed minimum turning radius of approximately 4.95 meters, improving maneuverability in urban environments.
The combination of dual-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering brings the Dahan's chassis hardware closer to the specifications typically associated with premium flagship sedans.
Continental and Bridgestone are among the tire suppliers for the model.
The chassis supply chain therefore combines BYD-controlled technologies such as DiSus-A and rear-wheel steering with specialist suppliers in selected component categories.
Body & Premium Features: D+ Segment Proportions and Chinese-Inspired Design
At 5,256 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,510 mm tall, with a 3,130-mm wheelbase, the Dahan sits firmly in the large-sedan class by dimensions.
The model adopts the latest evolution of BYD's Dynasty Series "Dragon Face" design language.
Its front end incorporates a 2.41-meter integrated full-width daytime running light, which BYD describes as the longest of its kind on a production car. The lighting design draw inspiration from the sweeping roofing eaves of traditional Chinese architecture.
Other exterior features include floating wheel emblems, 21-inch aero-disc wheels and full-width rear lighting.
Aerodynamic measures including the low-drag body shape, active grille and other airflow optimization help the Dahan achieve a claimed drag coefficient of 0.197 Cd.
Inside, the sedan combines white-ash natural wood trim, Nappa leather and smart dimming privacy glass, together with soft-close doors.
BYD has also emphasized rear-seat space and comfort, reinforcing the Dahan's positioning as an executive-oriented flagship sedan.
