Gasgoo Munich- Leapmotor has officially announced its A10 model sold 30,652 units in August, reclaiming the title of best-selling SUV across all categories in China. According to the automaker, this marks the second straight month the model has held the top spot in its internal SUV rankings, following a debut victory in July with 26,424 units.

Rankings, however, can shift depending on the methodology. Data from Yiche puts the Leapmotor A10 at the top of August's SUV sales with 30,652 units, ahead of the Tesla Model Y at 29,260. Yet, the China Passenger Car Association's (CPCA) retail chart tells a different story: Geely's Xingyuan led with 39,651 units, followed by the A10 in second place and the Model Y in third. Leapmotor's claim of an "all-category SUV crown" reflects its specific classification parameters.
Launched on March 26 with a price range of 65,800 to 86,800 RMB, the A10 is positioned as a small pure electric SUV. Its top trim features a 128-line LiDAR and city NOA capabilities. Just 135 days after its debut, the 100,000th unit rolled off the production line on August 7. Overall, Leapmotor delivered 103,129 vehicles globally in August — an 80.7% year-on-year surge and its second straight month above the 100,000-unit mark.
