Ultra-fast Charging, Enters Two-Wheeler Industry

Edited by Betty From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- On May 14, at the CIBF 2026 exhibition, Sunwoda subsidiary De.Power officially unveiled its latest ultra-fast charging battery for two-wheelers: the "Yifeng" Ultra-fast Charging Battery 2.0.

In the automotive world, "ultra-fast charging" is nothing new. From BYD's megawatt-level flash charging, which delivers a 70% charge in five minutes, to Hongqi's Tian Gong series bringing 800V high-voltage platforms down to the 170,000 yuan price bracket, the technology is moving rapidly from a luxury niche to the mainstream.

Yet while the four-wheeler sector races ahead on the ultra-fast charging track, the far larger market for electric two-wheelers has remained stuck in the "slow-charging era." Now, that wave is finally breaking into the two-wheeler space.

As the industry's first ultra-fast charging battery for two-wheelers, the "Yifeng" aims to shatter the long-standing "impossible triangle" of fast charging, long life, and safety. It boasts an 80% charge in just 20 minutes, a cycle life exceeding 2,000 cycles, and a comprehensive safety protection system.

Reportedly, paired with compatible ultra-fast charging equipment, the "Yifeng" supports high-power charging of up to 6kW, reaching 80% capacity within 20 minutes. By contrast, standard two-wheeler batteries take over two hours to fully charge, and even existing fast-charging options rarely break the one-hour mark. This means the "Yifeng" compresses charging time to roughly the duration of a coffee break—matching the convenience of refueling a gas motorcycle. There is no need to visit a dedicated station; charging can be completed during daily stops, such as in shopping mall parking lots or at delivery hubs.

Beyond the product launch, De.Power also kicked off an "Ultra-fast Charging Alliance" during the exhibition, signaling deeper industrial ambitions. The company aims to be more than just a leading battery supplier—it wants to become a standard-setter and ecosystem builder in the ultra-fast charging sector.

De.Power revealed that the "Yifeng" has completed technical adaptation and testing with several top domestic electric motorcycle brands and regional mainstream two-wheeler manufacturers. It is now in the small-batch installation phase. Some partner models have already launched pilot programs in cities like Hangzhou, and the first batch of mass-produced vehicles equipped with the "Yifeng" are poised for release.

From four wheels to two, and from megawatt flash charging to a "20-minute coffee break," the era of universal ultra-fast charging is arriving at speed. And as ultra-fast charging ceases to be the exclusive privilege of private car owners, the mobility experience for two-wheeler users is set for a genuine generational leap.
