Positioned as a "pure electric benchmark," the new Sealion 05 EV comes standard with second-generation Blade batteries and BYD's flash-charging technology. The system delivers a usable charge in 5 minutes and a full charge in 9 minutes under normal temperatures; even at -30°C, the penalty is just an additional 3 minutes. Two CLTC range options are available—540 km and 630 km—powered by a rear-mounted motor available in 200 kW and 240 kW variants.

The chassis features a rear-motor, rear-wheel-drive layout with front MacPherson and rear five-link independent suspension, marking the debut of the iTAC 2.0 intelligent torque control system. On the practicality front, the EV version offers 600 liters of trunk space and a 110-liter front trunk, with an electronic release mechanism as standard.

The Sealion 05 DM-i is designed as a "family all-rounder," equipped with BYD's fifth-generation DM technology. It combines a 1.5-liter plug-in hybrid engine (max output 74 kW) with a drive motor (max output 120 kW), delivering a maximum combined range of 2,105 km on a full tank and battery. Fuel consumption stands at 3.1 liters per 100 km under NEDC conditions with a depleted battery.

Battery options include 26.6 kWh and 34.3 kWh capacities, offering CLTC pure electric ranges of 220 km and 305 km, respectively. The chassis employs a front MacPherson and rear four-link independent suspension setup, with both models featuring the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system.

Both models adopt the "Ocean Aesthetics" design language. The front features a closed grille paired with a full-width wave LED light strip and C-shaped headlight clusters, while the rear gets newly designed wave-style full-width taillights.

Measuring 4,620 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, and 1,630 mm tall with a 2,770 mm wheelbase, the new model boasts a 58 mm increase in wheelbase over the previous DM-i version, significantly improving rear legroom. New exterior colors include Seashell Pink and Coral Orange, while interior options feature Almond Beige and Twilight Blue. The cabin also adopts a column-mounted electronic gear shifter.

For intelligent driving, top trims come standard with DiPilot 100 ("God's Eye" C), with the laser radar-equipped DiPilot 300 ("God's Eye" B) available as a 9,900-yuan option. The cockpit runs on the DiLink 150 system, featuring a 15.6-inch adaptive rotating floating screen that supports four-zone voice recognition.
