Seeds | KingKong Tech Secures Nearly 100 Million Yuan in Series A Funding

Edited by Yara From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- Gasgoo has learned that KingKong Tech recently closed a Series A funding round worth nearly 100 million yuan. The round was led by Yuanyi Investment, with participation from KST Glory and Haixin Capital. All three institutions possess deep industrial roots and will provide comprehensive support to KingKong Tech across multiple dimensions, including financial backing, supply chain synergy, industrial cooperation, and customer expansion.

KingKong Tech noted that the proceeds from this round will primarily go toward enhancing mass production capabilities for core products, developing next-generation technologies, and expanding into multiple market sectors.

Founded in 2017, KingKong Tech was among the earliest domestic firms focused on encoders for the robotics sector. Leveraging proprietary innovative technologies, the company draws on underlying technical principles in physics, mathematics, simulation, and algorithms. It has developed compact, high-precision magnetic encoders using a proprietary pattern-based magnetic encoding scheme.

In doing so, KingKong Tech has reportedly applied a photoelectric-pattern-like measurement principle to magnetic materials. This shrinks the volume of its encoders by 90% compared to offerings from leading international players, while delivering 24-bit resolution and arc-second precision. Key features include large hollow shafts, strong anti-interference capabilities, low power consumption, and high cost-performance.

KingKong Tech has already established itself as a core supplier for most top-tier robot body and joint manufacturers, both at home and abroad. Furthermore, leveraging the superior performance derived from its underlying tech innovations, the company's new magnetic encoders have entered key sectors including automotive, military, semiconductors, healthcare, and the low-altitude economy. Applications range from in-wheel motors and optoelectronic pods to surgical robots and semiconductor equipment.

By 2025, daily shipments of KingKong's robot encoders have surpassed 5,000 units, supporting the mass production of nearly 200 humanoid robots per day. For the full year, the company's encoders have enabled the shipment of over 10,000 humanoid robots, capturing more than 80% of the market.
