Shanghai, February 20 (Gasgoo.com) In January 2009, China's bus sales fell 37.74% from a year earlier to 19,100 units, said sina.com today, citing the data from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Sales of large, medium and light buses all saw month-on-month and year-on-year decline. Their output-sales ratio was 114.37%.
Last month, only 19,100 buses were sold in the Chinese market, down 27.65% month on month (m/m) and down 37.74% year on year (y/y). Large buses saw the biggest fall in sales, followed by medium-size buses, and the light buses which had the relatively smaller fall of more than 30% from a year earlier.
China's bus sales in January this year included 2,992 big buses, down 53.73% m/m and 51.06% y/y; 4,361 medium-size buses, down 36.89% m/m and down 40.80% y/y; 11,732 light buses, down 9.77% m/m and 31.68% y/y. Their output-sales ratios are 110.61%, 102.23% and 120.90%, respectively.
According to the auto industry association CAAM's statistics, the bus sales in northeastern China saw a slight increase last month while the bus sales in other parts of the China market dropped considerably.
