Gasgoo Munich- GAC Group announced on September 17 that its subsidiary, GAC Energy, has surpassed 30,000 self-operated charging piles — a total that now stands at 30,835, putting the automaker at the top of the industry. Notably, 21,324 of these are DC ultra-fast charging units supporting 1,000V high-voltage platforms and single-connector power exceeding 180kW, accounting for nearly 70% of the total.
GAC has established a "9-vertical, 10-horizontal" charging network spanning 31 provincial-level regions and 232 cities nationwide. The company operates 2,471 charging stations, ensuring that a station is always within a 1-kilometer radius of city centers, while continuously expanding along major highway corridors to serve shopping districts, residential communities, and rural townships. Additionally, GAC's partner network includes over 180,000 stations and 1.83 million charging piles.
On the technology front, GAC has upgraded its supercharging infrastructure to 960kW, with single-connector peak power hitting 800kW. Leveraging an AI-powered smart management cloud platform, the company maintains a 99.2% equipment uptime rate, and its AC and DC charging piles have secured CCC certification. For users, Hyper's complimentary charging benefits now extend to 2,644 stations and 28,029 piles across 333 cities, featuring seamless interoperability between GAC's own sites and third-party networks.
While solidifying its public charging network, GAC is refining an integrated energy ecosystem that combines solar, storage, charging, and battery swapping. A highlight is a V2G microgrid pilot project with a discharge capacity of 3.72MW, which now operates routinely with an average daily discharge of 12,000 kWh and a peak exceeding 20,000 kWh. Furthermore, GAC is advancing megawatt-level supercharging technology to provide the foundational support needed to scale its proprietary charging infrastructure.
