Honda Motor Co said it produced a record 46,785 cars in China in April, representing a year-on-year increase of 51 pct.
For the first four months of the year, Honda produced 174,039 autos in China, up 33.6 pct.
The Japanese automaker's worldwide production in April rose to a record 329,091 vehicles, up 5.8 pct, while for the January-April period it was up 4.8 pct at 1.35 mln units.
Honda sold 38,374 cars in China in April, compared with 33,944 a year earlier, the company said in mid-May.
Honda Motor has joint ventures in China with Guangzhou Automobile and Dongfeng Motor.
